On November 8, 2016, NFC signed the EPC Contract of Zinc Slag Fuming Project with Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), with the total project duration of 18 months, and the processing capacity of 160,000 t/a zinc acid leaching slag. NFC undertook the design, technical services, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of the Project. In August 2023, the ignition feeding had been successfully completed for two sets of fuming furnace systems through remote video guidance. The Zinc Slag Processing Project is the first one adopting the green smelting process after the lead bottom-blowing in Dariba, which has great demonstration significance for the resource recycling, energy saving and emission reduction of the non-ferrous metal industry, with the environmental protection level of zinc smelting greatly improved.
